The characteristics of Romanian health and wellness tourism compared to other European countries are undoubtedly related to the existence and scientific exploitation of significant balneotherapeutic resources and its experience in treatments health based on natural resources.
Taking into consideration the medical treatment and prevention needs generated by the current health crisis and considering that Romania is positioned on the map of European trends to increase the mobility of patients seeking affordable medical services, being, at the same time, a destination for medical tourism, Romania has the chance to position itself as a destination for recovery and prevention for Covid 19.
An approach of the Romanian spa destinations as providers of tourist services for wellness and medical wellness with recovery and prevention values Covid could contribute to the growth of incoming tourism by adding foreign tourists looking for attractive medical services as price and quality and by reorienting the segment domestic tourism to medical wellness and prevention services.
